Over the weekend, on a perfect-weather day in Fresno, California, Brenon and I got married! It may sound cliche to say, but it was the best day…ever…of my life! As I have been chatting with people about it, the one thing I keep going back to is how much fun I had. I feel like I heard a lot of warnings of potential stress, and I know I personally labored over all that could go wrong in the months preceding, but no one warned me how excited I would be, or how much joy would fill my heart the entire day. I just knew everything was going to be amazing. And I must give credit where credit is due. So many people came together and put their special touch on a truly special day. When we said our thank yous, it really struck me how blessed we are.
Our wedding coordinator, Raina Toy, of The Badly Guarded Girl was amazing. I honestly don’t know what we would have done without her! From beginning to end, she was three steps ahead, helping us stay organized, taking our vision and making it a reality, and through her experience, anticipating things that would help our day go smoothly. Since we were planning from out of town, I felt so assured knowing she was there handling things as they arose. It seems she is an expert on everything weddings; from the floral arrangements she created, to each piece of lace and burlap she hung, strung, and cut (so. much. burlap!), her small touches made the whole event a beautiful, whimsical dreamland.
Our photographer, Kilean Todd of Kilean Todd Photography was so much fun. I found her by chance while stalking Fresno wedding photogs, and boy, am I glad I did. I was immedately obsessed with her beautiful, artful work. And once I met her, I knew she was someone I wanted there on my big day. She is so easy to be around, hilarious and fun. Her and her husband, Hugo stayed the entire night. I cannot wait to see the photos!
Our deejay Kevin from AMS Entertainment was a great guy, and handled our wedding with class. The whole night went really smoothly because he was so good at his job! We are really appreciative of him and his careful attention to our music and making our reception super fun.
Gosh, and really the list could just keep going. From our thoughtful officiant, to our loving and generous wedding party, to our venue and catering staff, to our families. I can’t imagine a better day. I am so grateful to everyone who was there.
The best thing? At the end of all of it, I married the love of my life, the most important part.
Below are a few pictures compiled from friends and family. There are so many great ones, I can’t promise this will be the last post…
